I've been grinding through Season of Defiance in Destiny 2, and hitting week four means another round of Seasonal Challenges just dropped. This batch is surprisingly chill compared to some earlier weeks, but it's still packed with great rewards—tons of XP, Bright Dust, and a few War Table upgrades that make the seasonal loop feel way more rewarding. If you're looking to blitz through these nine tasks before reset, I've got the quickest routes, weapon suggestions, and a few tricks I picked up along the way.

Before we jump in, a little time-warp note: even though we're in 2026 now and Bungie has moved on to new sagas, these old seasonal challenges still pop up as part of the occasional legacy grind. Some of my clanmates love chasing those retired Bright Dust piles, so this guide applies whether you're a completionist or just want a nostalgic trip to the H.E.L.M.

All That Matters

This one is the story progression check. You just need to complete Week 4 of the “We Stand Unbroken” quest. I head straight to the H.E.L.M., pick up the next step from the War Table, and knock it out in a few minutes. There's nothing fancy here—no secret objectives or hidden timers. Once the quest step is done, you get a War Table Upgrade and a fat 25,000 XP.

Easy, right? Make sure you've kept up with previous weeks of the quest chain, or you'll hit a wall. Pro tip: if you're behind, you can catch up by running Defiant Battlegrounds back-to-back; the quests are account-wide progress, so grab them on all three characters.

Cunning Liberator

This one asks you to defeat 75 enemies in the Defiant Battlegrounds playlist using Energy weapons, and you get bonus progress if those weapons deal Void or Arc damage. I went with my old faithful Funnelweb and Graviton Lance, melting everything that moved. If you've got Trinity Ghoul or a crafted IKELOS SMG, they're even faster since Arc explosions chain beautifully in the dense add waves. Match game modifiers are gone now, so don't worry about shield types, just spray and pray.

Finish this in one or two Battlegrounds and you'll bank another War Table Upgrade plus 12,500 XP. The real reward is watching those purple and blue explosions fill the screen.

Focused Defiance

This one had me scared at first—focus ten Defiant Engrams at the War Table. But the old Umbral Focus resource cost is gone! Now it's just Legendary Shards and Glimmer, and I'm sitting on a mountain of both. I focused armor pieces exclusively because I'm still chasing a triple-100 stat build. With a Discipline mod on my Ghost, I pulled two pieces with 25+ Recovery and 20+ Discipline in one session.

The challenge grants a War Table Upgrade and 12,500 XP. If you're low on Engrams, just farm Defiant Battlegrounds—they drop like candy. My advice: don't focus weapons unless you really want a specific roll; armor will pay off way more in the long run.

Strandweaver

This challenge is twofold: complete “The Final Strand” quest (which gives you the Final Warning Sidearm) and rapidly defeat combatants throughout Neomuna, with bonus progress for Sidearm final blows. The quest itself is short—grab it from Pouka Pond and finish the steps. If you already have Final Warning, the first part auto-completes retroactively, which saved me some time.

For the 100 kills, I took Forerunner and a crafted Empirical Evidence into Hydroponics Delta, the Lost Sector at Zephyr Concourse. It's a tight corridor with spawn doors that funnel enemies perfectly. A single grenade and some Sidearm cleanup clears entire waves. I finished the 100 kills in about three runs. The challenge rewards 50,000 XP and 150 Bright Dust, making it one of the most lucrative this week.

Mod Collector

Unlock 12 Artifact mods. That's it. You'll hit this naturally around Season Pass rank 50 if you've been claiming mods as you go. I had 14 unlocked by the time I checked, so it just popped up completed. The 50,000 XP and 150 Bright Dust were a welcome surprise.

If you're still leveling, focus on bounties and seasonal challenges—they rain XP. My go-to is the daily gunsmith bounties paired with the repeatable ones on the Moon; it's a mindless loop that works even now in 2026 when older destinations feel like ghost towns.

Momentum Crash

Momentum Control is back, and it's chaos in the best way. This challenge requires 50 Guardian kills, with bonus progress when your team has Zone Advantage. I dusted off Jade Rabbit and went to town—scout rifles two-tap to the head, and with enhanced radar and no ability spam, it's all about gun skill. Some matches I racked up 25+ kills. Polaris Lance and Dead Man's Tale work just as well.

Capture at least two zones to trigger Zone Advantage, and your kill tracker skyrockets. The payout is 25,000 XP and 75 Bright Dust, not huge but a fun change of pace if you're tired of PvE.

Razor's Edge

This one is a gambler's paradise—or nightmare, depending on your patience. You need 60 Glaive final blows, 30 Sword final blows, and 100 Bow final blows in Gambit. I loaded out with an Enigma (Glaive) for add clear and The Lament for tanky majors and envoys. Two matches got the Glaive and Sword done.

Then I swapped to Trinity Ghoul for the bow kills. With the catalyst, every arc arrow chains to nearby enemies, so clearing wave after wave in the mid-game is a joke. If you enjoy invading, bring Leviathan's Breath instead; it one-shots enemy Guardians even from super long range, and you'll get bonus progress for those kills. The challenge nets 50,000 XP and 150 Bright Dust—worth the Gambit grind.

Darkest Nightfall

Complete three Nightfalls on Hero difficulty or higher. Hero is the sweet spot: it has matchmaking and only a handful of Champions, no Light level disadvantage if you're at the soft cap. I ran three quick ones—two Proving Grounds and a Fallen S.A.B.E.R.—and called it a day.

If you're at the Pinnacle cap and want to speed things up, Legend Nightfalls count double, but you'll need a fireteam. The reward includes a Nightfall weapon drop plus 25,000 XP and 75 Bright Dust. Not the flashiest, but an easy tick on the list.

Precision Calibration

200 precision final blows with Scout Rifles, Sniper Rifles, or Linear Fusion Rifles. I headed straight to the Shuro Chi checkpoint in Last Wish. A single Withering Blade build and a crafted Piece of Mind got me 80 precision kills per attempt. You can also use the Extraction Lost Sector in Savathun's Throne World or even Momentum Control if you're good with a scout.

This challenge is a great excuse to level up a crafted weapon in the process. The reward is 25,000 XP and 75 Bright Dust. Get those headshots and you're done with the week.

All in all, week four is a breeze. I finished all nine challenges in about three hours, and the combined XP pushed me nearly five season pass levels. If you're chasing those deepsight harmonic alloys or just want to stockpile Bright Dust for the next event, this is your week.
